5 Reasons to Attend the IABG Partner Convening

On October 20th & 21st, we are hosting our 2016 IABG Partner Convening at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. I am so excited to see so many of our partners from across the state! There are so many reasons to attend, but here are the top five:

1. Connect with Old Friends & Make New Friends

DSC_0272The partner convening is an opportunity for veterans and new leaders in the financial empowerment and asset building field to come together to learn from each other. We will have partners from across the state participating in the convening. They’ll be plenty of time to network, share experiences from your local communities, and learn from the work of others.

2. Shape Our Policy Agenda

The conversations that take place during the partner convening will inform the IABG federal, state, and local policy agenda. It’s crucial that we hear directly from our partners about the challenges facing their program participants and the promising practices helping families save. The 2016 partner convening will provide space for us to share challenges and brainstorm solutions that help Illinois residents build financially secure futures.

During the partner convening, you’ll hear from peers that are leading innovative programming at the local level. This will include a two-generational program model to financial security, successful non-profit partnerships with municipalities, successful non-profit partnerships with employers, and much more!

4. Strengthen your Financial Capability Skills

While the partner convening will take place on October 21st, we’ll be holding a training for partners that have completed the CFPB’s Your Money Your Goals training on October 20th. This training, facilitated by the CFPB, will provide social service providers with additional financial capability tools to assist their program participants. If you haven’t yet completed Part 1 of the YMYG training, there’s still time! You can join us in Rockford, IL on September 21st.

5. Meet This Little GuyHumphrey

I might be biased, but I think this ranks in the top 5 ! At the 2014 IABG Statewide Conference I was about 3 months pregnant with this little guy. Because I believe it’s never too early to begin teaching someone about savings, Humphrey will be stopping by to meet our partners.

We hope you’ll join us! Register Now
