IABG convened Bank On Chicago community partners to discuss how to make Bank On Chicago approved checking accounts safer, more accessible, and low-cost. A list of 11 recommendations, informed and supported by those who directly serve the un- and under-banked, were presented to the City of Chicago Treasurer Stephanie Neely, who manages the Bank On Chicago initiative.

The checking account recommendations include no monthly maintenance fees, strong overdraft protections, and free online and mobile transactions, among others.
